Loss touches every life, though each person’s experience of grief is unique. Grief can reshape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. It is not about forgetting what has been lost, but about honoring what mattered while finding ways to move forward with the love, memories, and meaning that remain.
Grief may come through the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, changes in health, or significant life transitions. It can bring a range of emotions—sadness, anger, uncertainty, longing, or even moments of unexpected peace. There is no single path or timeline for grieving, and each person’s journey deserves care and support.
Therapy offers a steady and compassionate space to explore grief, loss, and the many emotions that accompany these experiences. Together, we can make room for your unique experience, gently discovering ways to carry both love and loss forward while finding meaning and renewal in the life that continues.
While many women find weekly therapy to be the right pace, there are seasons of loss when more sustained support can be especially meaningful. Extended grief care offers the opportunity to meet in longer sessions over several days, creating space to slow down, process what has changed, and begin making sense of life after loss.
What might this look like? Therapy is tailored to your unique needs, but many people choose to meet for 90-minute sessions over several consecutive days. This may take place during the week or over the course of a weekend, allowing time to stay with your experience rather than feeling rushed by the pace of weekly therapy. I reserve availability during two weekends each month for this type of care.
Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a significant relationship, or another profound life transition, this focused format provides time for thoughtful reflection, compassionate support, and the opportunity to move through grief with greater intention. If you are wondering whether an extended therapy experience may be a good fit for your needs, I welcome that conversation.
